Bridgwater & Taunton College’s pioneering digital space, The Realm, has officially become a corporate partner of Digital Somerset. This marks a significant step forward in bridging the gap between education and industry to drive digital innovation across the region.
The Realm, located in the Arts House at BTC’s Taunton Campus, is a cutting-edge CreaTech space which provides students and local businesses with access to advanced equipment in the podcast studio. This provides exciting opportunities for collaboration, skill development, and real-world experiences in the creative and cultural sectors.
Digital Somerset is a county-wide movement committed to establishing Somerset as a recognised hub for digital innovation and collaboration. Through events, training, and partnerships, it connects businesses, educators, and professionals to build a thriving digital ecosystem.
Vanessa Hughes, Head of Creative, Digital & Professional Studies, shared her thoughts:
This new partnership will enhance opportunities for students and professionals alike, enabling BTC’s The Realm to play a central role in shaping Somerset’s digital future. Together, The Realm, alongside Bridgwater & Taunton College and Digital Somerset aim to address the digital skills gap, support local enterprises, and inspire the next generation of creative tech talent.
