As a Bridgwater & Taunton College Ambassador you will act as a role model to other College students, visitors and prospective students. You will be required to help new students feel at ease and settle in quickly, direct and escort visitors around the College and discuss your own experiences and transition to College with them.
These activities will help you to develop effective communication skills, confidence and self-esteem and will provide you with experience that will be of value in whatever career or education path you choose to take after college.
As an Ambassador you will be expected to support various projects across the College and carry out a minimum of approximately 25 voluntary hours over the academic year, both during and outside of College hours. The tasks listed below give you an idea of the sort of activities you could get involved in:
In your second year of College you could apply to become part of the Ambassador Committee. The Ambassador Committee has been designed to allow current second/third year students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and personal attributes in preparation for their next steps and to support their learning while at Bridgwater & Taunton College.
Employability is embedded throughout every student’s course and being part of the Ambassador Committee helps reinforce what the student is taught over the duration of their time at College.
