There are many ways for students to get to College, whether by bus, train, car or bike.
Bridgwater is on the main rail line from Taunton, and the main campus is just a short walk from the station. There is also free parking at the Bridgwater and Cannington campuses (and is only £1 per day at the Taunton campus). There are also designated zones for parking mopeds and bicycles.
A number of planned road works are taking place across Bridgwater and the local area over the coming weeks. As a college, we are doing all we can to mitigate these challenges and will support your young person should they be impacted. However, we encourage you to keep in mind an alternative plan should your young person have transport challenges.

Each day, various buses come to the Bridgwater Campus from towns and villages across Somerset and North Somerset, with connecting buses transporting students to-and-from the Cannington Campus in both the morning and afternoon.
Please note: bus BC06 from Castle Cary is now running. Please apply here.
The 16-17 Saver railcard costs £30 per year and can be used on standard class journeys originating in England and Wales. This is also valid for season tickets.

If you need help with the cost of travel, the College offers a 16-19 Bursary Fund which is assessed on household income of less than £50,000 per year (take home pay). It is a limited fund, which means early application is advised.
Please note: travel payments will be reimbursed for timetabled days only.
The 16-19 Bursary can also help with other course-related compulsory costs and meals where the household income is less than £40,000 per year (take home pay). The upper-income threshold listed above is solely for help towards bus travel.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Student Support on 01278 441233 or by emailing studentsupport@btc.ac.uk.
The College operates several services not on County routes, and from areas without direct public services to the Bridgwater campus. This pass allows one inward and one outward journey each day to-and-from the Bridgwater campus (with links to Cannington included). This is applicable only during term time, and only on the designated services listed below:
Please note: the bus companies may change in September 2024. However, the routes will remain the same.
The cost of this bus pass for the 2024/25 academic year is £790. This can be paid in full on application, or in eight monthly recurring card payments of £98.75 from October 2024 to May 2025.

To park at the Taunton campus, the fee is £1 per day.
The Taunton Campus car parks use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) to help manage car parking on-site. Students are expected to pay for parking and must hold a parking permit.
Visitors / unenrolled students will need to report to Main Reception, where they will be able to register their vehicle as they will not hold a permit. They will also be expected to pay the daily charge.
