Ambassador ice skating trip - Bridgwater & Taunton College

We met in the College’s Diner at 4:30pm and promptly departed for the Winter Wonderland at the Mall Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, where we would be shopping and having a go at ice skating.

When we arrived we split into small groups to do a little bit of shopping and grab some food. My group decided to go and have something to eat before ice skating, so we ventured over to Pizza Express to enjoy a mixture of different items from their menu.

Some of the group opted for the take away option so brought it along to the meeting point when we regrouped at the ice rink. We were given our ice skating tickets and let loose on the ice! Luckily, the weather had improved since we arrived, when we got there it was raining really badly, but by the time we got on the ice it had brightened up.

We had lots of fun trying to skate; some people were amazing and showed off their skills, while some of us weren’t quite so good, but we all had a lot of fun. Like always people are going to slip and some of us did, and got very wet, but we all got straight back up and continued having fun on the ice.

After skating we had a small amount of time to do some shopping. With only 30 minutes, it was a race against time! We split back into our small groups and off we went. My group managed five different shops in the time and bought a mixture of items, from coffee to iPhone accessories!

We all met up after our shopping spree and showed off our purchases. Some hadn’t spent that much, but others, like me, had spent more. In my case £300 in 30 minutes! After all the excitement, we headed back to the coach and shortly arrived back in Bridgwater.

Kelly Thorne, Events and Communication Co-ordinator at Bridgwater College said,

“It was great to see the Ambassadors having so much fun. They have worked extremely hard at events and activities over the past term so it has been good to be able to thank them for their support.”
