Entry Requirements

There are no specific barriers, in terms of academic qualifications, skills or experience to entry to the NEBOSH National General Certificate programme. However, it should be noted that currently the assessments are offered, and must be answered, in English only. The qualification includes a requirement to write a short report based on the candidate’s own workplace, which must also be in English.

The standard of English required by candidates studying for the NEBOSH National General Certificate must be such that they can both understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that candidates undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests in order to be accepted onto a National General Certificate programme.
