If you are looking for a career in health, social care or childcare this is the course for you. It is suitable for those who have a positive attitude but may need to develop further before moving on to the Level 2 or into employment in the sector. This course provides a gateway on to other courses offered throughout the College and enables you to develop skills in caring for others within health and early years settings as it includes work placements and the chance to gain employment during the course.
Modules are taught through a mixture of class-based activities, practical sessions and during work experience. You will need to complete 100 hours of relevant work placement over this programme in addition to the units which are graded 1-8. You will also continue to study maths and English as part of your programme alongside employability skills.
On successful completion, you could progress to other courses at the College or find employment. Some students are successful in securing an Apprenticeship from your work placements.
