If you are looking for a career in health, social care or childcare but need an introduction programme to support your entry onto a Level 2 course or apprenticeship, then thisqualification may be for you. This course is an entry level certificate for those students who have positive attitudes and a desire to progress, but have not yet met theentry requirementsor have the experience required for entry onto a Level 2 programme.
It provides an introduction to key topics within both health, social care and early years, whilst supporting you to develop your personal, employability and academic skills. You will also have maths and English lessons to support you with re-taking and improving these qualifications.
Topics may include:
Topics are taught through a mixture of class-based activities, practical sessions and during work experience. You will need to complete 100 hours of relevant work placement over this programme.
On successful completion you may be able to progress to Level 2 courses at the College or find employment. Some students are successful in securing an Apprenticeship from their work placements.

You need GCSEs in the 3 to 1 range including English and maths, or other equivalent qualifications. Entry is also subject to a successful interview and induction. You also require a clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. |
