Young people from the secondary schools of our community have the opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills they will need for employment in these industries in the future, Our Automotive and Engineering students will partake in activities such as Computer Aided Design, Composites, 3D Printing, Electrical Vehicles systems, Health and Safety and Circuit Board design over the 6-week programmes.

BTC have also enlisted the support of our local employers to form part of the after-school club delivery ensuring our young people know about the amazing opportunities right on their doorstep.

March 2024

After building the confidence to work safely in our Automotive workshops, our Electric Vehicle after school club were tasked with exploring the modern technology being utilised in our region today.

The learners were required to appropriately conduct a high voltage shut down procedure required to carry out investigation and maintenance routines on a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle.

Using our specialist teaching rig allowed the learners to conduct the shut down procedure and remove the breaker switch; testing the high voltage breaker point as they went along to ensure a safe voltage state.
