Floristry Students Design Novelties for Weddings - Bridgwater & Taunton College

In September a socially distanced group of students joined the Level 2 NCFE Floristry course at Bridgwater & Taunton College. This new course covers funeral, wedding and many aspects of general floristry work including a business module.

After only 7 weeks of study the group were offered the opportunity of individually designing their own bespoke ‘Novelty design’ for a bride to carry at a wedding. They all rose to the challenge and no two designs were the same. Many exceeded the brief and produced work that would be acceptable on a Level 3 floristry course, part of the brief was to receive peer feedback to aid their future continued development.

Everyone enjoyed this task but due to restrictions in place for the COVID19 situation photographing the group proved very difficult this year.

The Tutor Jacqui Weaver did her best to capture the group photo but the result is poor therefore some individual designs have also been featured.

The level 2 course completes at the end of the Winter term and many students are progressing onto the Level 3 Floristry course as they many are hoping to change careers.
