Professional Cookery students make national semi-finals - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Three talented Bridgwater & Taunton College cookery students have qualified for the semi-final heats of the prestigious Country Range Student Chef Challenge 2018/19.

Rebecca Hurley, Lauren Bell and Victoria Arend are all working towards Level 2 Professional Cookery qualifications at the College’s Quantock Restaurant at the Taunton campus. Having planned, prepared and executed a three-course, four-cover menu in 90 minutes for the competition, they will now compete against other college teams in the semi-final heats in February, hoping to progress to the Grand Final in Scotland in March.

This competition is one of many extra-curricular opportunities that Hospitality and Catering students at the College can access alongside their studies. They play an integral part in Taunton’s annual Feast Festival, regularly work alongside prestigious guest chefs, enter local, regional and national competitions and gain real work experience every week in the Quantock Restaurant, which is open to the public.
