Working in Partnership with Employers to Develop a Skilled Workforce - Bridgwater & Taunton College

In today’s rapidly changing job market, the need for a highly skilled workforce is more pressing than ever before. With technology advancing at a rapid pace, the demand for workers with specialised skills is growing. This has led to a significant skills gap in the workforce, with many workers lacking the necessary training to succeed in today’s job market. This is where Bridgwater & Taunton College come in, working in partnership with local and national employers to play an important role in bridging the skills gap through training and education.

We provide students with the opportunity to obtain a further education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their chosen field. This is done through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience in the workplace. The combination of these elements helps to prepare students for the challenges they will face in their careers and ensures that they are well equipped to meet the demands of the job market.

Another important role in developing a skilled workforce is our partnerships with businesses and industry. Through these partnerships, we can ensure that our programs and courses are aligned with the needs of the job market, therefore providing our students with the best opportunities to be highly employable and ready for the workplace when they complete their course.

Matt Tudor, Director of Strategy and Partnerships said,

At Bridgwater & Taunton College we are very proud of our response to skills. We’ve worked closely with our employers, both locally and regionally to ensure that our curriculum is fit for purpose and right for the job roles of today.

By providing students with the knowledge and skills they need, and by helping current employers build new skills, we play a critical role in bridging the skills gap. As the job market continues to evolve, we will continue to work closely with our employer partners to ensure the workforce has the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
