You need to be employed to start an Apprenticeship. Please visit our vacancy page or if you have an employer, please ensure you add full contact details of your employer within your application. If you are unable to secure employment, you could enrol on a full-time study programme and transfer to an Apprenticeship at a later date. Please apply for a full-time course as your second option.
This apprenticeships teaches you how to engage with individuals and groups to participate in sports. It has been developed my employers and designed to ensure you are equipped with the skills needed to work in the sport and leisure industry.
You cover a range of knowledge and skills including:
Assessment is at the end of the apprenticeship through an observed coaching session, presentation on a project or event youve worked on and panel interview. During the apprenticeship, you will be regularly visited in your workplace by a qualified assessor to check on your progress and ensure you are building evidence towards your final assessment.
On successful completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship, you could work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Sport Development or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Physical Education and School Sport.

This course has taught me a lot of useful skills like being organised to help prioritise my workload and meet deadlines and communicating effectively which is essential when coaching sports.
