Course Overview

Unit 1 – Understand current data protection legislation

Summary: The aim of this unit is to provide learners with an overview of the key data legislation that organisations are required to comply with. The learner will understand the purpose of the Data Protection Act, explain the purpose and how it differs from the GDPR.

Unit 2 – Understand organisational procedures concerning data

Summary: The aim of this unit is to provide learners with an understanding of organisational procedures concerning data, including steps organisations might take to protect the data they hold and the importance of doing so.

Unit 3 – Understand threats to ICT systems and data

Summary: This unit provides learners with knowledge of common threats to ICT systems and data and ways to protect ICT systems from these threats. Learners will also understand how to protect their own devices and data.

Unit 4 – Understand the consequences of not protecting data

Summary: This unit aims to ensure learners understand the consequences of not protecting data.

Assessment Methods

Upon enrolment you will be provided with learner support materials that will give you the knowledge and understanding required to undertake the assessments. To be awarded the qualification you need to successfully complete all of the workbooks.

As you work through the learning materials you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you support, advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing robust feedback on the work you complete.

Entry Requirements

Eligibility for FREE Level 2 Distance Learning courses:



  • Learners must be aged 19 years old or over as of 31 August in the current
    academic year.

  • Must have lived in the EU for the last three years

  • Must currently reside in England, in a postal code outside of
    Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Cambridge & Peterborough, Tees Valley,
    Greater London Authority (GLA), West Yorkshire Combined Authority, West
    Midlands.

  • If aged 19-23, must hold a full Level 2 qualification or above in any
    subject (i.e QCF Diploma Level 2, five GCSEs/O Levels grade A-C, two or three.
    AS Levels, CSE grade 1 5 or more, one A Level, QCF Certificate, GNVQ
    Intermediate, First Certificate or Principle of Learning Level 2).

  • If aged 24+ no qualifications are required.

An administration fee will be incurred if you withdraw from the
course.

Spotlight

I decided to do Level 2 Business which I thoroughly enjoyed which made me chose to develop my understanding of Business and so then I went on to do Level 3 in Business. I have gained confidence, knowledge and multiple skills throughout the course and It has helped me to understand what I want to do in the future.
